“Temptation”- August 2025

Hello my friend,

Well, August has been an interesting month to say the least. I took a much-needed hiatus from social media and a short break from creating art to refill the creative well. However, when I was ready to return, a pipe burst in my home and flooded everything. Needless to say, it’s been a stressful time as repairs are being made, and I’ve had little time for creating art. Fortunately, I created August’s artwork last month to stay ahead of the game. Thank goodness I’m organized and plan everything.

Now, with all of my drama aside, let’s talk about the art of the month.

This month’s exclusive print is titled Temptation.

When I began this piece, It started just like all of my other art. There was no plan beforehand. I just let it develop intuitively. As It got close to being finished I noticed a theme beginning to emerge when I added in the apples. The apples of course made me think of Adam and Eve—one of the best known stories of temptation and the consequences from giving into it. How often are we tempted with that new car, new house, or the next new shiny thing. How do we feel when we give in to temptation?

The two figures in the artwork represent an internal conversation that we’ve all had: one part of us reaching for what we want, the other is pausing to question the cost. The bright red fruit is a symbol as old as storytelling itself. It’s a reminder that choice is the thread that weaves our fate.

I invite you to spend time with this piece, notice the details, and consider your moments of temptation when saying yes or no shaped your story.

Thank you for being part of the Cubist Print Club and for giving my work a home.

With love and gratitude,

Jason
