Creating Without Pressure: Why I Sketch for Myself

Art is not a handicraft, it is the transmission of feeling the artist has experienced.
— Leo Tolstoy

Hello my friends,

Today, I’m sharing another sketch from my Leda Art Supply sketchbook. Sketching in these books has become one of my favorite creative outlets. What I love most is that it allows me to focus entirely on the process rather than worrying about producing a “finished” piece. It’s a peaceful practice that helps me tune out the world and just be in the moment.

These sketches are created purely for myself. While I do enjoy sharing them, I have no interest in selling them. For me, that’s crucial. I used to put a lot of energy into selling my work, but it brought unnecessary stress. Now, sketching is purely about creating for the joy of it, without any external pressure.

Do you create in sketchbooks? Let me know in the comments.
